What is Twitch?

Twitch is a streaming service that allows content creators to share live videos, or streams. Many streamers play video games, but others make art, perform music, prepare meals or even discuss and conduct science! Odds are if you like games, art, hobbies, travel, science, music or other entertainment there's someone on twitch for you!

What is a VOD?

A VOD or Video On Demand is a previously recorded stream that has been saved for later viewing. Some streamers choose to archive their streams making many, sometimes hundreds or more, past streams available to watch whenever you want. Twitch continues to host recent and flagged videos so you can watch them from your streaming device at your covenience. Of course you can't chat with the streamer, but in nearly every other way it's like watching a live broadcast or perfromance.

Why are there ads?

Twitch embeds or adds advertisements occasionaly into their hosted videos unless you subscribe to their channel or purchase twitch turbo. I recommend doing both to support your favorite streamers and avoid annoying advertisements.

Can I save a shortcut?

Yes! Just add the twitch userid to a url parameter like so: https://vodarchive.com/?username=bardicbroadcasts. This link will take you directly to their VOD results. Feel welcome to share!

What are some good twitch streams to watch?

There are many thousands to choose from, but here are a few I enjoy:

• Retrogradetom - Tom plays mostly old video games many of the adventure variety. His chill demeanor, dry wit and passion for creative games has kept me coming back for years.
• Kumamonster - Kuma walks, a lot. Based in New York city he streams five times a week walking the city for miles and chatting with its many colorful inhabitants.
• Tacoadventure - Taco is passionately dedicated to adventure games. He hosts the adventure game archive and streams new and classic adventure games several days a week.
• Palentologizing - This guy knows dinosaurs, I mean he really knows them. Danny is a paleontologist who conducts field work (digging up real dino bones!), visits museums, creates 3D models, reviews scientific papers, advocates for science, takes questions, teaches and always entertains.
• Macaw45 - It's hard to find anyone more enthusiastic about classic, bizarre, hard to find interesting, rare and/or unique games. This seasoned and charming streamer has been at it for a long time and his collection and knowledge of old video games on an array of platforms is something to see.
• Sharpie - Sharpie has probably played more SEGA games to completion than anyone on the planet. His calm demeanor and relentless pursuit of his goals makes him a staple I keep going back to.
• blackbox711 - Blackbox is a REAL airline pilot with many years of twitch and flying experience. His knowledge of flight and flight simulation is second to none and his positivity and exceptional ability to teach make him a great stream for anyone interested in aviation.
• tondagossa - Tonda is a calming and positive presence with a huge library of retro games. His viewer choice streams are a great way for him to show off his extensive archive and for viewers to see lots of interesting, unique and classic retro games.
